An expert in the EU cohesion policy, regional policy and territorial development issues. 23 years of professional experience in design, programming, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of national structural, regional and EU cohesion policies.
Born in 1964. Education: Master’s Degree in Geography (Warsaw University); PhD in Economics.
Since 2001 to 2013 Director of the Department of Structural Policy Coordination in the Ministry of Regional Development, responsible for preparation of the system of structural funds in Poland (2002-2004) and subsequently in charge of programming (including preparation of national socio-economic and regional development strategies), monitoring, evaluation and (until 2006) coordination of implementation of cohesion policy in Poland. During Polish Presidency in the EU Council (2011) Chairman of the Structural Action Working Group working on legislative package on the cohesion policy. Member of various European and national bodies dealing with cohesion and territorial issues. Currently chief advisor (general counsellor) on cohesion policy in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development (on unpaid leave), working as an expert on regional policy and self-governmental reform in Croatia and Georgia. Author of many publications concerning the EU cohesion policy, regional development and territorial matters.
